2017 Fall Update

Things are buzzing in the Business Incubator at Glenbrook South High School.

Our “year one” students have formed teams and identified problems that they’ve deemed worthy of business solutions. I’d hate to give away too much this early in the process, but if you’re tired of plain old mac and cheese, upset about ill-fitting online shopping, or too busy to wash your car, we just may have the answer that you’ve been searching for.

In the coming weeks those teams and others will be seeking market feedback to better understand their space, determine exactly who their target customers are, and develop solutions that offer the best path towards success.

We’ve enjoyed learning from inspiring guest speakers Steve Galanis of CameoGreg Bliss of Bliss Training & Consulting, and Venture Capitalist Jim Kozak. Thank you for sharing your time and expertise!

Our “year two” student teams are moving along quite nicely as well. One group just started the patent search process, and the other just serviced their second round of clients by “lowering the price curve of joining equipment intensive sports.”

On October 12th, our class will have the opportunity to travel down to Northwestern’s Pritzker School of Law to view TechStars Chicago’s Community Demo Day. It’s sure to be a memorable trip.
