Dear All,
On behalf of the business incubator program at Glenbrook South High School, I’d like to use this first newsletter to extend a huge thanks to the entire community. The outpouring of support has been overwhelmingly positive, and our students have benefited as a consequence.
Earlier this month, our first instructional coach, Nick Cromydas, helped our student teams identify problems worth solving with marketable business solutions. This week, Jim Kozak completed his second of three lessons on value proposition and developing an elevator pitch. Next week, our students will deliver their pitches on camera and gear up for our October 4th mentor match.
Thanks to Adam Koopersmith, that same day, we’ll be bringing a group of students from the class downtown to watch the Techstars Chicago Community Demo Day to see entrepreneurs from the Chicago startup scene pitch their early stage businesses.
As you can see, there’s A LOT going on!
Thank you to the parents, students, coaches, mentors, teachers, administrators, and guests who made an appearance at Wednesday’s Fall Open House. It was great to put some faces to names and to get to talk to you in person. I’m incredibly excited about the future of this program and the unique instructional opportunities it offers our students.
Sincerely,
Mike Macfadden
